Way to Umbrella Waterfall
Imagine you got asleep while doing some hard work and wakeup with complete freshness.
This is how it feels when you finally reach the Umbrella waterfall.
The way to Umbrella waterfall is hard and beautiful.
There is a blend of beauty that comes in the way.
Before talking about its road and how to reach the umbrella waterfall let me tell you:
Where is Umbrella waterfall?
The umbrella waterfall is located in the area of Sajikot, where the famous Sajikot waterfall is located.
Did you get that? The area is full of waterfalls.
Poona waterfall is also located there. Isn’t it amazing?
This umbrella waterfall is almost 27km away from Havelian.
Umbrella Waterfall road
Someone quoted that:
“The best view comes after the hardest climb.”
The road to the waterfall is almost fine. But it doesn’t take you to the exact point. You have to hike down from a hilly village there. This is the most difficult part of the journey. But always remember the above mention quote.
Umbrella waterfall tour
For visiting the waterfall, use the motorway from Islamabad or Peshawar.
This will be your journey of a bed of roses. Take an exit from Shah Maqsood interchange at Hazara Motorway. Drive towards Havelian and then toward Sajikot.
A small but beautiful Kyala dam will come your way.
Never forget “stopping is losing.”
Continue your journey to Sajikot and then to a small village of Poona.
It will take two hours from Islamabad to Havelian, 1 hour from Havelian to Sajikot, and only 10 minutes from Sajikot to Poona Village.
Your journey of a bed of roses ends here. The car can only access at Poona Village.
Park your car there and hike down for almost 45 minutes.
It’s difficult but it’s worth paying. After all, beautiful artwork of nature is waiting for you.
Umbrella waterfall hiking
From Poona village to the waterfall a difficult but beautiful trek of almost 30 to 40 minutes come in the way.
For adventurers like me, this is the most amazing and memorable part of the journey.
But to other tourists, it may be a difficult one.
A huge rock at the start of the waterfall is the main hurdle. No need to worry at all. A rope is provided to the tourists to hike down the pond.
Rock may be slippery but not the rope.
And finally, you are in the most beautiful waterfall of Abbottabad.
Now it’s up to you to swim or stand just beneath the showering water.
I bet you could not forget the fantastic, mesmerizing view there.
Bring your meal there and enjoy the beauty with food. That’s what foodie travelers do.
Hiking down is difficult but hiking upward is super-difficult. But don’t be afraid of this. It’s not like climbing K2.
Things to consider before the Umbrella waterfall trip
The umbrella waterfall is not for everyone. Patients cannot go there. Only those who can hike well should visit the waterfall.
Some people are saying that ladies must not visit the waterfall.
But many women had a trip to the umbrella waterfall.
The only thing to consider is your health and most importantly, your dressing. Proper dressing means easy hiking.
One must wear shoes that fit him and support him there.
Best time to Visit Umbrella Waterfall
The rainy season is the best and worst time to visit Umbrella waterfall.
This time is the best time to visit the waterfall in the sense that the weather becomes pleasant and the pond becomes full of water.
So at this time, the waterfall provides the most scenic view and provides the best water for swimming.
This season is somehow worst too. Because rain makes the trek slippery and difficult for hiking, people avoid visiting the waterfall this season.
I recommend this season if you are not with your family.
Umbrella waterfall distance
Everything has been discussed about the waterfall. But I think there is a need to mention the distance of this magnificently beautiful waterfall from some Important cities.
So here it is
Umbrella waterfall distance from Islamabad = 76km
The waterfall distance from Peshawar= 212km
Umbrella waterfall distance from Nathi Gali = 32km
The waterfall distance from Lahore= 481km
Umbrella waterfall distance from Karachi = 1513km
Mark my final words. The Umbrella waterfall will drown all of your tiredness. It will take away all of your sadness. Never go there if you want to remain sad all the time. But once you have visited there, it will make you addicted. Addicted to traveling, addicted to waterfalls.
I want to hear from your side. What had you experienced? Is there any better place than this waterfall in Abbottabad?
